An Erick man was taken into custody at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, following an investigation by the Beckham County Sheriff's office regarding allegations of sexual misconduct with two juvenile females.
The District Attorney's office has charged William Clay Snodgrass, 47, with two counts of child sexual abuse and two counts of lewd exhibition. Those charges were filed June 30. Snodgrass denies the allegations, the Sheriff's Office reports.
According to a report from a DHS case worker, one of the juveniles, in an interview with the case worker, said that Snodgrass had touched her inappropriately and in a way that hurt her.
She also reportedly told the case worker that Snodgrass occasionally walked around the house nude and walked into the bathroom while she was bathing. The girl told the case worker that the behavior had been happening for a couple of years.
A second juvenile female, in an interview with Undersheriff Mike Bagzis, gave information that concurred with the allegations made by the first girl.
Both girls also reportedly told officials that Snodgrass requested other inappropriate contact with them.
Officials did not elaborate on how Snodgrass knew the girls or what relationship, if any, he has to them. The Sheriff's Office began the investigation after being contacted by a representative from DHS Child Welfare Divisison.
