Elk City Commissioners hired a new city manager at tonight's special meeting.
Gary Dumas, a former operations director for the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas, got the nod for the top position in Elk City government.
City officials did not give a timeline for Dumas' employment to begin, but indicated that it would be as soon as possible, keeping in mind the logistics of him relocating his family to Elk City from Arkansas.
Dumas is married and has one son, who will be a seventh grader next year.
